After Dev.D, Amit Trivedi composes his next Punjabi song for Aisha. This time the song is sung by his favorite, singer of Pardesi and Iktara male version, Tochi Rainaa. The song is a not-so-fast dance number and instantly reminds you of Dev.D’s Punjabi numbers though the songs in Dev.D were sung by Labh Janjua. Anyway, the song is good and here are the lyrics of the song.

Gal mitthi mitthi bol, Bajne de taashe dhol..

Gal mitthi mitthi bol, ras kaano vich ghol
Bajne de taashe dhol, masti mein tu vi dol
Mann de naina tu khol
Chahat ke moti rol
Dil hunda ae anmol, ke daulat se na tol
Aa sohni tenu chaand ki main choodi pehrawa
Mainu kar de ishaara te main doli lai aanwa
Gal mitthi mitthi bol, ras kaano vich gol
Bajne de taashe dhol, masti mein tu vi dol

Jaanleva teri ada, kaise na koi ho fida
Tera ang sharara jaise maare lashkara soniye
Dekhan ta dil dhadke, tann mein agan bhadke
Surat aisi mannmoni kitta dasta tu hai sohni heeriye
Gal mitthi mitthi bol, das kaano vich ghol
Bajne de taashe dhol, masti mein tu vi dol
Mann de naina tu khol
Chahat ke moti rol
Dil hunda ae anmol, ke daulat se na tol
Aa sohni tenu chaand ki main choodi pehrawa
Mainu kar de ishaara te main doli lai aanwa

Chahne wala hoon tera, dekh le idhar zara
Tu jo vekhe ik nazar kara lakhan da shukar sohniye
Dekh to tu keh ke mujhe, jaan bhi de dunga tujhe
Tera aisa hoon deewana, tune ab tak yeh na jaana heeriye
Gal mitthi mitthi bol, ras kaano vich gol
Bajne de taashe dhol, masti mein tu vi dol
Mann de naina tu khol
Chahat ke moti rol
Dil honda ae anmol, je daulat se na tol
Aa sohni tenu chaand ki main choodi pehrawa
Mainu kar de ishaara te main doli lai aanwa
Gal mitthi mitthi bol, gal mitthi mitthi bol..

If you think Amit Trivedi is all rock, think again. The Dev.D guy is into a full-fledged filmy mode this time and as you hear a peppy Suno Aisha, you can’t stop humming the words. If you haven’t heard the song, I can give you a rough idea of the song, say it’s somewhat like Jaane Kyun of Dostana, somewhat like Jab mila tu, somewhat like Kabhi Kabhi Aditi, and still unique.

If you still want to know more, listen to the song.

Here are the lyrics of the song.

Tum ho kamaal, tum bemisaal, tum lajawab ho aisha
Aisi haseen ho, jis ko choo lo usko haseen kar do
Tum sochti ho duniya mein koi bhi kyun kharaab ho aisha
Tum chahati ho tum koi rang har zindagi mein bhar do, bhar do

Nikli ho likhne kismat ki seekhi apni hi dhun mein tum aisha
Yeh shauk kya hai, yeh zid hai kaisi, itna bata do humko
Suljaane mein tum auron ki uljhane, hoti ho jo ghum aisha
Apni bhi koi uljhan ko door kar ke dikha do humko
Suno aisha, itna to tum bhi samjho
Aisha, tum chahe jitna chaho
Aisha, tum jitni koshish kar lo
Aisha, tum sa na hoga koi…

Baaton mein ho aa jaati, ho jaati ho jazbaati
Soche samjhe bin ke mohabbat ki hai raah kya
Pal mein ho ke deewani, karti ho tum manmaani
Tum kahe duniya vuniya ki koi parwaah kya
Aisha jise kehte hain, ek hai woh lakhon mein
Dil mein jaake rukti hai woh, aati hai jo aankhon mein
Magar aisha, itna to tum bhi samjho
Aisha, tum chahe jitna chaho
Aisha, tum jitni koshish kar lo
Aisha, tum sa na hoga koi…

Suno aisha, itna to tum bhi samjho
Aisha, tum chahe jitna chaho
Aisha, tum jitni koshish kar lo
Aisha, tum sa na hoga koi
Suno aisha, itna to tum bhi samjho
Aisha, tum chahe jitna chaho
Aisha, tum jitni koshish kar lo
Aisha, tum sa na hoga koi….

Amit Trivedi is here again. I was not even done with listening to his awesome Udaan, when he came back with Aisha. The good thing is that unlike Udaan, Aisha is not all typical Amit Trivedi in his favorite rock mood, but much more versatility. In fact with the present variety, you may count it as, something like half a Dev.D.

The first song of the album is Suno Aisha, which is a peppy number with some light, likeable experiments with instruments. The song that falls almost in line with Vishal-Shekhar’s Jaane Kyun and Jab mila tu, sounds different also because of the soft voices. By the way, with Amit Trivedi and more, the song even has Ash King, the guy who sang Dil gira daffatan for Rahman last year in Delhi 6.

The next song is the Punjabi piece, Gal Mitthi Mithi Bol, sung by Tochi Raina, the ‘Pardesi’ boy. The song is a hardcore Punjabi one with slow beats and quite carrying the flavor of Dev.D’s Punjabi songs.

The next song, Shaam, is a slow-soft, quite typical Amit Trivedi thing. When listening to the song for the first few times, you may think the song would go into rock mode but Amit n Neuman Pinto keep rendering the soulful lyrics of Javed Akhtar in a soft but typical mode of theirs. Reminds me of Aamir’s songs. Whatever it be, I love the boom boom boom para.

The fourth song of the album is Behke Behke, sung by Anushka Manchanda, Raman Mahadevan and Samrat. The song is a dance number with a touch of music that sounds somewhere between Caribbean and Arabic and even Goan to me. The song even reminds me of Honeymoon Travels’ Pyaar ki ye Kahani. Maybe I’m losing the genre but the whole point is the song is different, and good. Likeable stuff for sure. And some good singing by Anushka.

And the next song is Magic. O no, the name of the song is Lehrein, but the song has almost created a spell on me in the first few listenings only. Awesome singing by Anusha Mani again on some slow, soulful music and some touching lyrics by Javed Akhtar. I guess the best song of the album, and probably with this one, Amit Trivedi-Javed Akhtar will be able to recreate the magic of Iktara. Lovable.

By the way/tumse keh denge sung by Anushka Manchanda with Neuman Pinto is a fast paced dance number that doesn’t really sound like Amit Trivedi from any corner. The song is well sung by Anushka and the way she speaks in between, she reminds me of Aye Bachhu sung by Suzanne D’mello. Good but not great.

Besides, the album has two remixes, of Gal Mitthi Mitthi and Lehrein. The remix of Gal Mitthi is a common Punjabi song remix while Lehrein has got a lonuge mix that sounds pretty good.

Overall, Amit Trivedi has come up with some variety this time, thus bringing soemthing for those who said he was making only rock-ish songs after Dev.D. Must listen.

And yes, if you want to have my opinion on the best song, it’s simple I guess. Lehrein aayin, lehron mein beh gaye.

Here are the lyrics of the song.

khoyi khoyi si hoon main

And, as expected, Amit Trivedi does it. I was not even done with listening to Amit’s Udaan, and his Aisha is here. As per my rule, I decided to go for Amit’s self sung Shaam first, and the song just bowled me over. It’s a soft piece with Javed Akhtar’s matching lyrics. The song reminded me of Aamir and when I heard it the first time, there were times when I thought ‘here it goes into rock mode’, but the song never did. Soft, soulful, and Amit Trivedi’s typical. Well done by Neuman Pinto n Amit. Here are the lyrics of the song.

<em>Sham bhi koi jaise hai nadi leher jaise beh rahi hai
koi ankahi koi ansuni baat dheeme dheeme keh rahi hai

suhani suhani hai ye kahani jo khamoshi sunati hai
jise tune chaha hoga wo tera meujhe wo ye batati hai
main magan hoon par na jaanu kab aane wala hai wo pal
ke haule haule dheere dheere, khilega dil ka ye kanwal..
ke boom boom boom para para.. hain khamosh dono
ke boom boom boom para para.. hain madhosh dono
jo gumsum gumsum hain ye fizayen
jo kehti sunti hain ye nigahen
gumsum gumsum hain ye fizayen hai na..

ye kaisa samay hai kaisa sama hai, ke shaam hai pighal rahi
ye sab kuch haseen hai, sab kuch jawaan hai, hai zindagi machal rahi
jagmagati jhilmilati palak palak pe khaab hai
sun, ye hawayen gungunayen jo geet lajawab hai
ke haule haule dheere dheere, khilega dil ka ye kanwal..

Shankar Ehsaan Loy have become a music factory this year. Before the score of one movie starts fading, they come up with the next. This time it’s Hum tum aur ghost, starring Arshad Warsi and Diya Mirza. With lyrics from Javed Akhtar again. Here is a review.

Dekho Raste mein is a fast, peppy, but nevertheless romantic number that sounds good with KK and Shreya singing wonderfully. Though I feel the song would have sounded better had it been a bit slower. (I have tried the song at 90% and it does sound good) Anyway a lovable song. Go for it.

The second song, Hum Tum aur Ghost, comes with the so-typical-of-him voice of Vishal Dadlani as he sings the title song with Shankar Mahadevan. The song has a likable melody but the pace again sounds overcoming the melody as Vishal-Shankar sing Hum-tum-aur-ghost at such a speed. Still, the music in the song is worth listening to and the sound manages to remain above average.

Banwre se poochhe banwariya or Baawre se poochhe baawariyaa, the third song of the album, is sung by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan while almost the entire team of S-E-L has been roped in to give chorus sounds and has been credited on the cover too. The song is a fun piece, and quite catchy, something like man ko ati bhaave saiyyan, though not exactly similar.

And the last original song of the album is the one I had started my album with. And interestingly, Kal tum the Yahan IS the best song of the album. Dominique in her wonderful, wonderful voice teams up with Shankar Mahadevan to give this slow, soft song with beautiful lyrics. Must listen.

Talking of remixes, the remix of the title song is quite usual, while the remix of Dekho Raste mein is quite interesting to listen to, more so because it sounds a lot like Pump it up of Chance pe Dance. The last one is the remix of Kal tum the yahan which makes the slow song a bit fast paced one. Didn’t like that one much compared to the original.

Overall, Hum tum aur Ghost is a good album with some likable and sweet songs. Though, while I liked three out of four songs (all except title), I still had more expectations from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy after KCK. My advice, get the album anyway. If nothing works for you, put kal tum the yahan on repeat n keep listening.

And while Alyssa has been great with her voice, I cannot say what exactly is the song’s USP. Is it just the voice, or the upbeat and experimental, fresh music, or Javed Akhtar’s flirting lyrics, Uff teri adaa, I like the way you move, Uff tera badan, I like to see you groove, Uff teri nazar, it says I wanna dance with you, though the music seems most strong.

But then, whatever it is, the song is making people fall in love with it like anything. Believe it or not, I have a feeling that the song will break the records of S-E-L’s both party songs it’s the time to disco and where’s the party tonight and will come at par with their dance anthem, Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe Kitna Bhi Humko Deewana. Anyway, for now, here are the lyrics of the song for those who are searching.

Jogi nachle ..
Rang rach de ..
Jogi nachle ..
Rang rach de ..
Lehraake balkhake tu, duniya bhula ke naach
Dhun koi gunguna le, gaale tu gaa ke naach
Rangeeniyon mein to kho ja, pee ke pila ke naach
Mad bhare naino se tu, naina mila ke naach
Uff teri adaa, I like the way you move
Uff tera badan, I like to see you groove
Uff teri nazar, it says I wanna dance with you.. x2

Sun le sahiba..
Tu hai ik nasha..
Hosh hai mera..
Saara kho gaya..

Hosh gawa deewane, hosh gawa ke naach
Paas tu aa deewane, paas tu aake naach
Dil mein hai armaan jitne, saare jaga ke naach
Tann mein badan mein jaise aag laga ke naach
Uff teri adaa, I like the way you move
Uff tera badan, I like to see you groove
Uff teri nazar, it says I wanna dance with you x2

(music down)

Dekh ke bhi nahi ho yakeen
Itni kyun hai bataa tu haseen
Tere husn se zindagi haseen
Tere husn ke aage koi haseena kuchh bhi nahi
Aankhon mein mere saare sapne saja ke naach
Mujhko tu dil mein rakh le, dil ko dhalka ke naach
Pyaar agar hai mujhse, pyaar jaga ke naach
Jaan o dil hai jo teri, mujhpe luta ke naach
Uff teri adaa, I like the way you move
Uff tera badan, I like to see you groove
Uff teri nazar, it says I wanna dance with you
Uff teri adaa, I like the way you move
Uff tera badan, I like to see you groove
Uff teri nazar, it says I wanna dance with you

You are free to disagree with me, but I do not think Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are the best in Bollywood. It’s Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy-Farhan who are the best. Be it Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Rock On, or Karthik Calling Karthik. Yes, you know what I mean, they rock. Once again. So no more bakbak. Straight to the review.

Hey Ya: The album starts with Hey Ya, something with which almost everybody is familiar by now. Lovable song. Clinton Cerejo and Loy Mendonsa’s voices make it sound like Farhan is singing the song. Shankar Mahadevan in the background is perfect.

The remix version of the song is equally interesting and even has some extra words though they make more kind of background. Shankar’s voice in the start of the remix reminds me of Dil Chahta Hai title and the sound keeps on repeating in the background almost throughout the song. Basically, there are quite some experiments done in the remix and they do not make a bad song even if not good. Certainly worth a try remix.

Uff teri Adaa: Is one of the best of the album. I won’t say the best because I do not think it’s a good idea to call any song the best in such a good album after just one day. Uff teri ada is basically a dance song, with background beats almost like it’s the time to disco or where’s the party tonight. But then, the song is quite different, and if it was not, Alyssa Mendonsa’s voice does make it different.

Alyssa’s voice in the song has an electric/guitary effect attached to it, something that is common with Shibani Kashyap’s songs and it sounds quite good here. In fact I think Alyssa’s voice will suit Deepika quite well. Listen to the song, and yes, do not think your power is cut while listening to it.

The song has a remix too which also sounds good. I hope it becomes an integral part of dance clubs and parties soon.

Jaane ye kya hua: The very start of the song makes me feel that the song is absolutely wonderful. The song remains good, but when coming to higher notes, KK suddenly starts sounding almost like Shankar Mahadevan, nothing bad in that though. In fact with the lines Jaane kyun lagta hai ab jaise har lamha har pal hai muskura raha, Shankar Mahadevan is clearly backing, though he is not credited for the song. Give the song it’s time and you will love it.

Kaisi hai ye udasi: Kailash Kher and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy last came together with Ya Rabba and gave a marvelous, slow rendition of a song that we still love. After years, they are back and the song reminds me of the same song. Probably that is the reason this time the song is made a duet with Sukanya. But the song still doesn’t sound very different. Not that great one. Still trying not to remember Ya Rabba when listening to the song.

Karthik calling Karthik: A perfect song. For the background sounds that is. I do not think many people will be listening to the slow, theme-like song much until the movie releases, but the song is certainly good and should be great to listen to in the movie. And may be even after that.

The song has a remix too, but it sounds more like a theme than a remix and hence they call it theme remix. Sounds fine anyway.

Karthik 2.0 or Karthik theme: is good, better than most of the themes I have heard in the recent past. Nothing much to say about the singing and voices and all, none there.

Overall, Karthik Calling Karthik is a good album and certainly worth listening to. Though S-E-L look repetitive in some places, there is a lot that is new. At the worst, you can play the first two songs on repeat mode, and the third will have its day too.

My picks: Uff teri Adaa, Hey Ya.
Discovery of the album: Alyssa Mendonsa.

No. This is not a poll/vote/awards or any fight like that. Here I am simply sharing some good words of the year 2009 that I found appealing due to various reasons. It can be a line, a mukhda, an antara, a complete song, or a complete album. So here comes my list. Don’t worry about numbers. They’re just for time pass.

1. Aarambh hai prachand: This list could hardly have a better start. I still remember that from the Gulaal promo during Dev.D, I had taken only these words home. I love the entire song, but the first line, Aarambh hai prachand gives the song the start it deserves. And then, there was Duniya, composed, sung, written by Piyush Mishra. Ye Duniya agar mil bhi jaye to kya hai was probably the best tribute Sahir could have. Through the genius of Piyush Mishra.

2. Sapno se bhare Naina: Believe it or not, I consider them one of the best lines composed by Javed Akhtar ever. When you start with Chhoo le ise sagar jise har koi maane, you think it’s good. The next line Paani hai wo ya ret hai ye kaun jaane, even better, wow. Superb. And then, the next two lines beat them, Jaise ki din se rain alag hain, sukh hai alag aur chain alag hai and I thought that was the climax, until I heard par jo ye dekhe wo nain alag hain, chain to hai apna sukh hain paraye. The giant wave has passed from over my head. No matter what Shankar Mahadevan sings now. I am mesmerized. Drenched in those words.

The good part is that Luck By Chance had wonderful lyrics throughout the album. Other than Sapno se bhare naina, there was Ye zindagi bhi which was good (chhoone hain taare ise), baawre (watch Hritik dancing in the circus and meanwhile they tell you the story of entire film industry), and O raahi re, a typical ‘best of Javed Akhtar’ thing.

3. Kaminey: Now that I have talked about Javed Akhtar, I want to talk about Gulzar and so comes Kaminey. Movie, and the track. Vishal Bharadwaj’s music and voice with Gulzar’s lyrics. Something must be there, I thought. And it was. Jiska bhi chehra chheela, andar se aur nikla, maasoom sa kabootar naacha to more nikla. Also, it took sometime to digest, but I loved the lines of Fatak: Ye ishq nahi aasan, aji aids ka khatra hai, patwar pehen jaana, ye aag ka dariya hai. Superb, for sure. Though I won’t say it’s Gulzar material. And then, there was one line in Raat ke dhai baje that I loved, just a line: Ek hi lat suljhane mein, saari raat guzari hai, chand ki gathri sar pe le li, aapne kaisi zehmat ki hai. Yes, that is typical Gulzar.

4. Kurbaan hua: It came well near the end of the year, but I am breaking the rough chronology here not only because I loved the lyrics of the song, but also because it makes my most commented post. The song, Kurbaan hua, definitely had some great music and Vishal Dadlani sang it wonderfully, but the words of Niranjan Iyengar are certainly good. While the song has some great lines like Jal uthe meri kufr se saanso ka ye sama, the interesting thing is that the song gives a summary of almost entire movie. Use of Urdu words is almost perfect, in a way that they are used to make things crisp.

5. Emosanal Attyachar: Tauba tera jalwa, tauba tera pyaar, tera emosanal attyachar. Words so casual that you rarely think they mean anything until you sing them for yourself, which happens quite commonly with me. Emosanal Attyachar is something so common, especially in India that it starts right from the family and keep going with friends, girlfriends and even at work. The words were so interesting that they almost replaced the phrase ‘emotional blackmail’ in the dictionary of Urban youth. Awesome lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Talking about more words of Dev.D, there are a lot I like, but the only ones that I’d mention here are kahan chali gayi hai saali khushi, and Hadd nazar ki jahan talak hai, ik bharam hai, wo jo dhanak hai (ek hulchul si). Good ones.

6. Genda Phool: Whenever I make a list about songs and music, Dev.D is followed by Delhi 6. So why leave it here. Genda Phool is something that was not just awesome on music but had some great singing and good lyrics as well. I mean, be it the antara bush shirt pahine, khaye ke beeda paan or the very starting saas gaari deve devar samjha leve, sasural genda phool, entire song was good. Superb job by Prasoon Joshi.

Rehna tu was great too, though I am still trying to grasp why the so-so-romantic song suddenly went into philosophy with hath tham chalna ho, to dono ke daayein hath sang kaise. It feels like the song suddenly changes a world and goes to glass adha khali from Jaane tu ya jaane na. Strange, but nevertheless good. By the way, one line I had almost forgot to mention is from Delhi 6 title song where the lines go casually: Iske bayein taraf bhi dil hai, iske daayein taraf bhi dil dil hai, and suddenly says ye sheher nahi mehfil hai. One word to make some awesome lyrics.

7. Chor Bazari: This song comes ‘up’ in the list because Star Screen recommended it. Else, it would go a bit more down. By the way, if you haven’t got it, the order of songs is based on how much and how badly I want to write about a song and nothing more. Also, one movie, once started, has been finished then and there.

So, talking of Chor Bazari, the song certainly did not deserve a ‘best’ award as there were much better lyrics out there, but the song was good. Firstly, the song was so matter-of-fact, showing what happens with so many urban youths today and secondly, it was all in good spirit and fit the movie so well. Good work by Irshad Kamil.

8. Dhoop ke sikke: This was one underrated song of the year, even though it got some publicity while the movie could not get any. The lines baarood jab bachcha tha wo titli pakadta tha, wo amiya bhi churata tha, patango par jhagadta tha.. are good. But where it comes to magar dhokhe se tumne uska bachpan bhi to loota hai, zara dekho to uski aankhon mein wo kabse rootha hai make it awesome. Great work by Prasoon again.

9. Aye Saaye mere: Oops! Where did this come from? Well, this song of New York (yes, it was there in the album) was composed and sung by Pankaj Awasthi and written by Junaid Wasi. The bad thing about the song turned out to be its music which wasn’t very catching and worse, it got no publicity and no picturization in the movie. I love the lyrics of entire song and the lines mathe pe sabhi ke likh de, hathon pe sabhi ke likh de, zyada na koi na kam ho, ik naam sabhi ka rakh de are kind of hard hitting. The song definitely deserved more according to me.

10. Give me some sunshine: Swanand Kirkire is a genius. Be it Hazaron Khwahishen aisi, Khoya khoya Chand, or even 3 idiots. He makes himself heard. Here he made a song that did wonders, but the bigger wonder was the lines he added to the song, lines so good that Sharman Joshi’s recitation of those lines equals Sonu Nigam’s singing in the movie. Just in case you haven’t got it, I am talking of kandhon ko kitaabon ke bojh ne jhukaya, rishwat dena to khud papa ne sikhaya… and then, beating it with likh likh kar pada haathon par alpha beta gamma ka chhala. concentrated H2SO4 ne poora bachpan jala daala. No words for his words.

At the same time, Jaane Nahi Denge tujhe was superb and Behti hawa sa tha wo was good after I found its relevance in the movie.

11. Jashn hai Jeet ka: Yet another underrated song according to me. This song of London Dreams reminded me of Shakespearean era. The lines Main to akele chal diya Haathon main leke patwaar, Manjhi pe mujhko nahin ab thoda sa bhi aitbar and maine dhakel ke unhe, chheen ke le li roshni, mere hisse ke ye savere, mere hisse ki zindagi were wonderful. Or rather, the entire song was. The song not only puts the entire movie into it, it also made me feel that the movie was somewhat like Julius Caesar, about friends and ambitions, which it actually was. Loved the song.

Also, Khwab ko raag de had good lyrics, but then, it’s quite regular for Prasoon now to give that good lyrics.

Besides these, Dil Ibadat kar raha hai of Tum mile too had some good lyrics. The lines teri yaadon mein rahoon, tere khwabon mein jagoon, mujhe dhoondhe jab koi, teri aankhon mein miloon were wonderful in the song. And while Mann ka Radio had a good message, it lost its seriousness with full-too-attitude. Still, some of the words in the song were new and gave a good feel.

I guess that’s all from me for the year. I hope there are even better words for us to listen to in the new year. With Ishqiya, the start has been good of course.

(REVIEW of the album Karthik Calling Karthik is HERE.)

Karthik calling Karthik is the new movie of Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone directed by Vijay Lalwani. The music, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, will be out on 18th January 2010. The promos of the movie are already out and we already have good reviews on Hey ya, the first song out.

So here is a preview of the music album, with some guesses as to what it may have to offer.

Karthik Calling Karthik is an album with total nine tracks, that is five songs, one instrumental theme and three remixes. Interestingly though, the remixes are expected to be more than mere 1.2x original song as Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s last remix, that of Wake up Sid title was at least as good as the original song. Also, the remix of the album’s opener Uff teri Adaa is sung by Loy and Clinton Cerejo with Shankar while the original song is sung by Shankar alone.

Sources say that the song is a wonderful one and hence I am waiting for it to arrive. The second song of the album Hey Ya is already up and running. Going by the song, the album has to be wonderful anyway. Third song of the album gets even more interesting as the singer’s name happens to be KK. The song is called Jaane ye Kya hua and is sung by KK as a solo. That makes me wait again as Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy rarely bring in KK for their songs, in fact I don’t remember any of their songs together other than Koi Kahe, Jhoom Barabar and it’s the time to disco which all had him as part of group.

Kaisi hai ye udasi. What do the words remind you of? Nothing? OK. The song is sung by Kailash Kher. Now? Reminds me of Ya Rabba. I loved the song a lot. And I hope I get one more from KCK.

The fifth and the last original song of the movie is Karthik calling Karthik which should be a Rock inclined number as far as I can see since it’s the title song of a thriller kind of movie and the singers are Suraj Jagan and Shankar Mahadevan with Caralisa Monteiro. If you let me take another guess, Caralisa should be kind of backing in the song.

Besides, there is a Karthik theme which reminds me of Akash theme and I expect it to be the one for sad, simple Karthik. At least.

After that, as I said, there are three remixes of Uff teri adaa, Karthik calling Karthik, and Hey Ya. And yes, the lyrics for all the songs are written by Javed Akhtar, oops, Akthar. That is the spelling I have seen in all promos yet. Karthikized one, is it?

Having said this, I am waiting for the album as badly as you are now.
