Though it is not confirmed as people are getting to see different things, but for me, Google has changed its logo and appearance. Interestingly, while the google.com website is showing the new logo to me, Google.co.in still has the old logo in place.

The new logo of Google is not much different from their old one, but the shadows under the letters are removed, and so the difference is noticeable at the least. Here are the 2 logos of Google as could find from my desktop screen. The one on top is Google.co.in while the one below is Google.com, the new logo.

But then, talking of the whole appearance, it seems that the new Google is looking somewhat like Bing, though they don’t show a page’s summary if you hover on that, something that Bing does.

Here is a new look of the Google search results page. Click on the picture for a larger view.

Are you on Twitter? If yes, then there is something that might be interesting for you. Google has Page Ranks for Twitter profiles and now you can check the Page rank of your Twitter profile to know how popular you are on Twitter. Of course there are several other ways, but then, Google and Page Rank is something that has been a Holy Grail for long. So here is how to do that.

The process to find the Page Rank of your twitter profile is simple. If your twitter username is hg6, then simply go to PRChecker.info, the usual Page Rank checking website and type the URL http://twitter.com/hg6 in the given space. Press Enter, write the captcha, and there you are, with your profile’s Page rank.

The Page Ranks for most regular non-celeb tweeters fall between 4 and 6 while Celebrities manage a 7 also. The only profiles I could find with a Page Rank 8 were that of Twitter itself and BarackObama. So that is the maximum you can reach as of now.

My Twitter Profile’s Page Rank is 5 right now.

Today I was in an experiment mode. So I just went in and started Googling for my own Twitter updates on the Google real time search. And when I was putting up the results on Twitter, I got to know that many don’t know how the Real Time Search of Google works. So I’m giving the steps to do the real time searches on Google.

First thing, there is no new URL for Google’s Real Time search. Not that I know of, at least. I’m searching real time with the regular Google. Here is HOW:

1. Open Google. google.com, google.co.in or any other domain will work.

2. Type the term you want to search in real time and press Enter.

3. Till here it was the normal Google Search so you get the normal search results. Now go to ‘Show Options’ below the Google logo in top left.

4. Once you click ‘Show Options’, you get many options in the left, click on ‘Latest’. You will get the real time results for the search term.

5. Now you can get real time results for any search term simply by searching for it in the same page until you change options.

So Search Real Time, write a tweet and see it updating on Google. Though, you may have to press the search button as it’s not updating real time results for all terms very regularly. Happy Googling again. It’s a whole new Google now.
