I have been thinking of writing music review of Lamhaa for quite some time now but every time I get stuck to Madhno and forget to move ahead of the song. So, here comes the late review of the album.
The album starts with Madhno re, a slow, soft, romantic, typical Mithoon song, sung by his favorite, Kshitij Tarey along with Chinmayee. Kshitij sings Mithoon’s tune in a soulful way and the song comes out to be superb. And then, Tu hi to har pal bandha hai, lamhon ki in zanjeeron mein.. just awesome singing by Chinmayee.
After a great start, the album moves to Salaam Zindagi sung by Arun Daga and Mohd Irfan which begins with some Kashmiri/Dogri words rendered by some children. The song is, as can be guessed from the title itself, kind of motivational and reminds me of Salim-Sulaiman, probably because of Dor. Though, the album or the song have hardly anything in common in terms of music. The song is not as touching as Madhno which did catch me from the very first listen, but this one too is nevertheless good.
Next comes Main Kaun hoon, sung by Palash Sen. The song is not very fast, has a touch of rock, and full of thoughts. Palash sings the song wonderfully and Amitabh Varma’s lyrics are no less. To be fair, Main Kaun Hoon is a combined effort by the composer, lyricist and the singer. A super-good song.
The next in the album is Saajnaa, the other version of Madhno, sung by Mika Singh. Well, the song is not a Dance version or something, but a ‘soulful’ rendition by ‘Mika’ along with Chinmayee. Mika is a HUGE surprise here as he sings the slow tune quite well. Now why does that remind me of Daler’s awesome ‘Musafir’ in Lahore??
The fifth song of the album is Zameen-o-aasmaan by Kshitij Tarey again. This one is quite a voice-based song and sounds pretty good with minimal instruments and Kshitij’s voice sounding like something between KK and MM Kreem. Good one for background. Equally good if you like good lyrics and singing with minimal instruments.
The last in the album is Rehmat Zara which is described as Pak-rockish/Paki-pop by my fellow bloggers. I liked the word, and would say it fits quite well, though the song reminds me of Train’s Teri Tamanna, and of Laari Chhooti (Ek chalis ki last local) for the zaraaaAAAaaaaAAAaaa part. And O, how Mithoon’s voice reminds me of Beete Lamhe.
And then, when u r done with the album, there is Madno again.
In short, a very good album. And a very awesome Madhno. To Mithoon, the word is: Dude, come back soon next time.

Mithoon Sharma (born Jan 11, 1986) is an Indian Bollywood film music composer and singer. He is the son of Naresh Sharma who has scored background music for more than 200 movies.
Mithoon first started out in the Mahesh Bhatt camp adapting popular Pakistani pop songs into Hindi movies most notably Woh Lamhe from the movie Zeher sung by Atif Aslam. He then did the same thing for Mahesh Bhatt for the film Kalyug,the song was Aadat also sung by Atif Aslam. Since then he has moved on to composing his own music as a guest composer in movies like Bas Ek Pal and Anwar. Although the movies did not do well, the music was well received and Mithoon’s work was appreciated.
In 2006 Mithoon replaced Himesh Reshammiya for composing the soundtrack for the movie Aggar. Mithoon also sang in Aggar, dispaying his powerful voice. Earlier his full movie album “The Train” marked his very first full album composition for a Hindi movie.
During his days in the Bhatt camp, Mithoon forged a good friendship with Pakistani Pop Singer Atif Aslam resulting in their joint composition for Atif’s new album Doorie along with Sachin Gupta.
Mithoon also worked for an international movie, a Malaysian film titled Diva of a Malaysian company named Astro Shaw, for which he had composed 5 songs.
Primarily a music director, Mithoon made his singing debut with The Train : Some lines should never be crossed . Many people think that he has sung only one song in the album – ‘Woh Ajnabee’. But actually the song ‘Mausam’ which everybody thinks has been sung by Atif, has actually been composed and sung by Mithoon himself. Various remixes of these songs have also been made.
‘The Train’s music album has been positively received & the songs sung by Mithoon are big hits. Mithoon eerily sounds like a fusion of KK and Atif Aslam. His singing style, as of this album, is similar to that of Atif Aslam.
His next film score, Aggar, was received very well because of the fusion of new vocal styles and music.The song Ke Bin Tere gathered a lot of airplay and was a hit.

News:Meet Mithoon Sharma, the singer-composer who gave the Indian youth a lot to cheer about with Woh Lamhe from Zaher and Maula Mere Maula from Anwar is all set to be back on the scene with his new album. Tuhi Mere Rab Ki Tarha Hai under the Bhushan Kumar’s banner.
Mithoon has been working on the album since a year and has gone all the way to the United Kingdom to work on the project. Mithoon preferably works with Sayeed Quadri and this time, too, he has roped in the veteran lyricist to pen his songs. Tuhi Mere Rab Ki Tarha Hai is Mithoon’s debut non-film album and obviously he has a lot of hopes with it.
Mithoon Sharma Rocks… His debut album “Tu hi mere raab ki tarha hai”, has 7 tracks that takes u somewhere out of this world… its too spiritual kind of a music! I feel he is badly hurt in his love life, and thats what ignites him to compose such touchy numbers…
