Priyadarshan’s upcoming movie Bumm Bumm Bole, which features Darsheel Safary as lead, has a multi-composer setting, something that I don’t find going most of the times, and probably this time too it doesn’t work very well. Still the album has some songs that can be listened, and are likeable. Here is a review of the album.

The first track of the album is the title track, Bumm Bumm Bole, composed by Azaan Sami (son of Adnan Sami), and sung by none other than Shaan who sang the first Bum Bum Bole too. The song is an impressive composition for the debutant, Azaan and has some fine lyrics on a decent n danceable tune. Liked it. Try the song.

The second song of the album, Tapas Relia’s composition, Aashaon ke Pankh laga le, is a motivational track, but the song sounds too fast, and somehow doesn’t sound interesting even with many components of a good song present there. My guess is that the voice(s) used in the song could be one reason. Imagine Sukhwinder Singh on the same lyrics and same music, and you would find a better song there. Also, at almost five minutes, the song sounds bit too long, being the racy song it is. Not bad, but nothing really good in the song than a try. You may like to try it too if interested.

Mann ki Aasha is a composition of MG Sreekumar and sounds interesting. Malini Awasthi’s voice is quite different and may or may not be liked by everyone. I found it good at points but a bit irritating at some points. A fine composition with all those beats and the different voice. Worth a try for the ‘different’ element it has.

Rang de, the last song of the album, is composed by Tapas Relia again and has some good guitar, and sounds quite like a Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy song. Clinton Cerejo singing the song makes my case  even more strong and I am bound to think that his arranging may also have something to do with this touch. Anyway, the soft number sounds quite good. Also there is a voice in the song’s later parts that has Kailash Kher effect, probably that of  Shasha Tirupathi. Listen to this one.

Overall, Bumm Bumm Bole is an average album (or slightly above that) that lacks big names but sounds okay. Though I feel that a few big names in some places could do better. My Picks: Title song and Rang De. Mann ki Asha can be tried too.
