The soundtrack of Mittal vs Mittal, India’s first movie based on marital rape, is hardly a thing I was expecting much from, even though I expect something from the movie made on a such a strong topic. But then, the small soundtrack is not as bad as I thought. In fact all three songs of the album are worth a try. The soundtrack of the movie has three songs, two remixes, and a theme piece. The soundtrack also has a song by former Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant Mauli Dave. Here is a review of the album.
The first song of the album is a Kailash Kher sung Aao seene se lag ke mar jaayen hum. The song is a painful number that vaguely reminds me of Kaante while Kailash Kher’s voice suits the song well. A good song that will be liked in case the movie clicks with audiences as it is most probably going to fit well in the movie. Only that with almost touching nine minutes, the song is a bit too long and demands some good patience.
The second song of the album, Khuda Hafiz, is sung by Mauli Dave. And it is as you expected it to be.
Well, Mauli Dave was considered really good at singing western songs in Sa re ga ma pa, and here she sings such a fusion number only. Ishq ko dil ka khuda hafiz is a catchy composition and Mauli sings it quite well. Go for the song right now if you’re a Mauli fan.
The third song of the album is Chhal Chhal (Chal Chal on cover) sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. This one is a much better composition even though it might sound similar to the previous track at the very start. Now the composer brings in Sunidhi for this one and the way she sings it, you clearly know how Mauli is still way behind Sunidhi. A good song again. Worth a try.
The lounge version of Aao seene se lag ke, joined by Sonu Kakkar along with Kailash, is a bit strange as many times the sounds are only in the background. Seems like this version is only for background in the movie. Though Sonu Kakkar sounds good for what seems to be the first time to me.
Khuda Hafiz (Club Mix) sounds mixed and while I liked Mauli’s singing in some points, overall song didn’t leave an impact on me.
The last track, Mittal vs Mittal theme musiq is a typical yes-i’ll-take-revenge-yes-i’ll-take-revenge-o-my-god-why-me-why-this tune that comes almost to a standstill before reaching the mid. And then it suddenly comes into the the-sword-of-Tipu-Sultan mode before getting into o-my-god-he’s-practicing-music mode. Finally the fourth minute gets a bit interesting and from then on it doesn’t at least go to standstill. OK. I’ve tested my patience n here is the result. Now it’s your turn. Just kidding!
Overall, Mittal vs Mittal, as I said, is not a great soundtrack, but certainly better than I hoped for and worth a try.

No mention of the name of the composer?
Hi Hari,
I like all the blogs.
One small request: It will be great if you rate the album in the range 1-5.
-Gireesh.
@Gireesh
Hi Gireesh, I liked ur suggestion, but somehow, I feel that every song is a different song and so I do not put ratings for entire albums, as I feel individual songs get lost if there are good songs in bad albums.
For example, if a 2 star album has a 5 star song, there is hardly a chance many people will get to know about it
To try and reduce the burden though, I write about what songs one should try while summarizing every album n u can find every song’s name in bold in the review. So u can just read the Summary n get to know about the album.
Also, mostly my n public’s reaction depend a lot on the expectations from an album. This relativity cannot be adjusted with stars as the star rating has to be similar throughout.
Basically, stars give a quick idea about some things, but they fail to reach the motive of this blog in many ways. Hence, I avoid stars.
I just want u to read three or four sentences’ summary to know about an album. Hope u understand what I am trying to do.
Thanks for the visits, appreciation, and suggestions.
-Harshit.
(PS: It’s not Hari.

@Karthik
I missed it deliberately to know whether u r reading all my reviews or not.
Thanks for the point out. I somehow missed that.
