I know many people would be wondering what Ishqiya means. I was in the same situation until I happened to see the trailer of the movie. And as far as I can see from here, Ishqiya is not a word. It’s not a noun, pronoun, adjective or verb. Ishqiya is a replacement.
Yes, Ishqiya’s trailer has every second word starting with C. With a lot of C words in the movie, it’s quite clear that Vidya Balan in the movie is making a fool out of Arshad Warsi, and probably Naseeruddin Shah too. That is another C word, Ch**iya.
I hope by now it’s pretty clear that Ishqiya is a replacement of certain letters by Ishq as Ishq is the driving factor for the two males here. If there is still something that is not clear, watch the trailer of Ishqiya.
After all, Censor still wouldn’t allow Ch**iya, and if you name it ‘C’, people think it’s a prequel to ‘D’. So well done, whoever named the movie. The guy didn’t make a Ishqiya out of himself.
